RPAC Boys Basketball Results as of 12/7

The basketball season has begun. All of the RPAC squads started the year, and a number of them will play in the Cattle Trail Tournament the week in McCook.



Alma


The Alma Cardinals started the season with a couple of games, and they are now 2-0. First, they hosted Bertrand and won 45-32. This was an RPAC Rundown Featured Matchup, so you can read the full article here.


Then Alma faced Kenesaw and won by a final of 56-45. The Cardinals led 31-19 at the half, and held on as they were outscored 26-25 in the second half.


Alma is 2-0 and will face Blue Hill on the road on Thursday and go to Wilcox-Hildreth on Friday.


Arapahoe


Arapahoe had one game to start the 2025-2026 campaign and it was against Overton. The Warriors lost 76-22. For Arapahoe, Aiden Roush led the way with 13 points, and he added five rebounds. Hayden Sich had five points and five boards. Overton was paced by Eli Luther with 17 points.


Arapahoe is now 0-1 and will begin play in the Cattle Trail. Tournament, and will face Dundy County Stratton to start with on Tuesday.

Bertrand


The Vikings have started the season 1-1. First, they placed Alma and fell 45-32. This was an RPAC Rundown Featured Matchup, so you can read the full article here. 


Then, they hosted Axtell and won 66-17. Thunder Nelson and Hunter Nelson each had 16 points to lead the Vikings in the game.


Bertrand will face Elm Creek on Monday at home and go to Pleasanton on Friday.


Cambridge


The Trojans had a pair of games to start the season, going 1-1. First, they beat Hitchcock County, 75-59. After three quarters, Cambridge led 63-39. The Falcons made a comeback bid, but fell short in the fourth quarter. Cambridge was led by 23 points from Brady Ahlemeyer and 20 from Hodge Raburn. For the Falcons, Jayce Hauxwell had 24 points and 13 rebounds. Adam Kisker had 10 points, and Jack Baker had 14 points.

Cambridge is 1-1 and will play Southern Valley on Tuesday at home and also host South Loup on Friday.

Dundy County Stratton


Dundy County Stratton had one game, and it was against Cambridge on the road. They won by a final of 77-61. This was an RPAC Rundown Featured Matchup, so you can read the full article here.


The Tigers are 1-0 and will begin play in the Cattle Trail Tournament on Tuesday against Arapahoe.


Hitchcock County


The Falcons had one game this past week as they hosted Cambridge. They dropped the game, 75-59. The Falcons made a comeback bid, but fell short in the fourth quarter. Cambridge was led by 23 points from Brady Ahlemeyer and 20 from Hodge Raburn. For the Falcons, Jayce Hauxwell had 24 points and 13 rebounds. Adam Kisker had 10 points, and Jack Baker had 14 points.


Hitchcock County will face Wauneta-Palisade in the Cattle Trail Tournament on Tuesday.



Hi-Line


Hi-Line started the season with two wins this past week. First, they beat Wilcox-Hildreth by a final score of, 39-32. Kane Cochrane led the way with 21 points. Brody Difenbaugh had nine rebounds, and Jaxson Hood added 10.


The Bulls then played Ansley-Litchfield and won 46-39. Diefenbaugh had a solid game, scoring 18, and Cooper Knackstedt scored 11 and had eight rebounds.


Hi-Line is now 2-0 and will play at Maxwell on Tuesday, host Southern Valley on Thursday, and go to Gothenburg on Saturday.


Maywood-Hayes Center


The Wolves of MHC have started strong as they are 2-0 this season. First, they beat Wallace 45-39. Keenan Richards had 15 points to lead the Wolves, and Oliver Anders added 10 points and 13 rebounds.


The Wolves won big over the weekend against Southwest, 72-53. Charlie Callis filled it up with 21 points and was 5-8 from three-point range. Richards had a big game again, this time with 23 points for the Wolves. Kade Broz had seven assists, which led the team.


MHC is 2-0 and will face Southwest in the Cattle Trail Tournament on Tuesday and compete in that tourney all week.

Maxwell


Maxwell had two games to start the 2025-2026 campaign. They dropped both games, first to Sandhills/Thedford, 67-56. Jesse Reyes paced the Wildcats with 23 points. Owen Pagel and Tayton Phillips each had nine points, too.


Maxwell then faced Cozad and lost 69-22. Reyes had 10 points which led Maxwell.


The Wildcats are 0-2 and will play Hi-Line on Tuesday and then go to St. Pat's on Thursday.


Medicine Valley


The Raiders have to be encouraged by their start to the season. They are 2-0, with some close games, but hey, wins are wins. First, they beat Southwest in Overtime, 56-49. Lucas Einspahr had 24 points in the game, Mason Roblee scored 19, and Ethan Brown had 12. Payton Newcomb had nine rebounds.


The Raiders then played Paxton and won, 50-44. Roblee had 19 points and eight rebounds, Brown scored 12, and Einspahr scored 11. A nice start to the season for the Raiders.


They will begin play in the Cattle Trail Tournament on Tuesday against Decatur Community.


Paxton


Paxton had two games last week and dropped both of them. First, they dropped a game to Ansemlo-Merna, 52-38. Maddex McConnell had 14 points, which led the Tigers. He also had 11 rebounds. Keegan Florom had eight points.


Paxton then fell to Medicine Valley by a final of 50-44. Tristen Hebblethwaite scored 22 points and had 13 rebounds in the game. Maddex McConnell had 10 points and seven rebounds.


Paxton is 0-2 and will play against Brady on Friday and Potter-Dix on Saturday. Both are at home.

Southern Valley


Southern Valley began the season with a pair of tough opponents. First, they played Minden and lost the game 80-52. Isaac Hamilton totaled 28 points for Southern Valley to lead the way. The Eagles then faced Elm Creek and lost the game, 54-43. Hamilton again had a strong game with 22 points. Tate Weatherwax led the rebounding with nine.


Southern Valley is 0-2 and will play Cambridge and Hi-Line on the road on Tuesday and Thursday, and Oveton at home on Saturday.


Southwest


The Roughriders started the season with a pair of games, which resulted in two losses. First, they fell to Medicine Valley 56-49 in overtime. For Southwest, Houston Billeter totaled 22 points and did a nice job on the glass, to say the least with 22 points. Deric Kelley had a double-double too with 13 points and 10 rebounds. Free throws were tough for Southwest as they went 3-12 as a team. It was a solid effort for the Roughriders.


Southwest then faced Maywood-Hayes Center and dropped the game, 72-53. Three players were in double-figures for the Roughriders as Jacob Barber, Deric Kelley, and Houston Billeter scored 16, 11, and 19 points, respectively. Southwest is 0-2 and will play MHC on Tuesday in the Cattle Trail Tournament.


Sutherland


The Sailors have begun the 2025-2026 basketball season. They had two games and went 1-1 in those matchups. First, they dropped a low-scoring affair to Mullen, 36-30. Jackson Saner led the scoring effort for Sutherland as he put up 10 points. Mason Mortimer scored four points and added eight rebounds. Zayn Green had a similar stat line with four points and eight boards too.


Sutherland had plans of bouncing back, and they did so by beating Brady 61-48. The Sailors are now 1-1 on the season and will face Sandhills Valley on Thursday at home.

Wallace


The Wildcats of Wallace had two games to open the season, and they split the matchups. First, they beat Wauneta-Palisade, 53-19. They jumped out to a big lead, 45-9 at halftime, and they were able to close out the game. Colt Franklin was effective for Wallace with 22 points and eight rebounds. Kyle Melton had 11 points for Wallace as well.


Wallace then faced a solid Maywood-Hayes Center team and lost, 45-39. Wallace led heading into the fourth, 35-30, but a 15-4 final period in favor of the Wolves led them to the win. Max Hanson led Wallace's scoring effort with 19 points. The Wildcats are 1-1 and will face Sandhills/Thedford on Thursday and Hyannis on Friday this week.

Wauneta-Palisade


Wauneta-Palisade had two games last week and fell in both of them. First, they dropped the game to Wallace, 53-19. The Broncos were led by Nathan Hiett, and Wyatt Hilbert each had five points. Hiett also had seven rebounds. The Broncos had 23 turnovers in the game.


Wauneta-Palisade then faced Creek Valley and lost, 53-29. Hiett had. Aice game with 10 points and Ayden Baker was efficient with 15 points on 6-10 shooting.


Wauneta-Palisade is 0-2 and will play Hitchcock County to start the Cattle Trail Tournament.
