Super Speedy Saturday: Cambridge Hosts Don Stine Track Invite

Cambridge hosted Arapahoe, Dundy County Stratton, Maywood-Hayes Center, Southern Valley, Southwest, and Wauneta-Palisade at the Don Stine Track Invite on Saturday. It was another fast day on the track as records were broken left and right. There were several field event records that were broken as well. Check out all the results in the blog.

In the 100-meter dash, Laken Wissink of DCS placed 1st with a new meet record time of 11.02, Blaine Aldridge of DCS placed 3rd with a time of 11.20, and Noah Zoltenko of DCS placed 6th with a time of 11.42.
In the 200-meter dash, Aldridge of DCS placed 3rd with a time of 23.46, Brady Ahlemeyer of Cambridge placed 5th with a time of 24.51, and Hayden Sich of Arapahoe placed 6th with a time of 24.93.
In the 400-meter dash, Will Cacy of Arapahoe set a new school and meet record with a time of 49.07, Ethan Latta of DCS placed 2nd with a time of 52.20, and Ahlemeyer of Cambridge placed 5th with a time of 55.31.
In the 800-meter run, Gavin Gunderson of Cambridge placed 4th with a time of 2:17.44, Tagen Yrkoski of DCS placed 5th with a time of 2:17.56, and Russell Norton of Cambridge placed 6th with a time of 2:22.86.
In the 1600-meter run, Gunderson of Cambridge placed 5th with a time of 5:25.00, and Braden Sandfort of Cambridge placed 6th with a time of 5:31.75.
In the 3200-meter run, Xander Cardoza of DCS placed 3rd with a time of 12:10.98, and Sandfort of Cambridge placed 5th with a time of 12:19.48.
In the 110-meter hurdles, Kevin Garcia of DCS placed 1st with a time of 15.27, and Kade Fisher of Arapahoe placed 2nd with a time of 15.82.
In the 300-meter hurdles, Konner McCrumb of Wauenta-Palisade placed 5th with a time of 48.36, and Trent Schockman of Southern Valley placed 6th with a time of 49.36.
In the 4x100-meter relay, Cambridge placed 3rd with a time of 47.30, which was run by Henry Shoemaker, Gunderson, Braxton Mitchell, and Ahelemyer; MHC placed 4th with a time of 47.62, which was run by Kade Broz, Steven Werkmeister, Ryan Werkmeister, and Rubiel Lopez; and Wauneta-Palisade placed 5th with a time of 47.71, which was run by David Bryner, Kameran McCrumb, Wyatt Hilbert, and Kreyton Wiese.
In the 4x400-meter relay, DCS placed 2nd with a time of 3:36.04, which was run by Wissink, Garcia, August Shaw, and Latta; Arapahoe placed 3rd with a time of 3:49.97, which was run by Sich, Alex Diaz, Hudson Sich, and Cacy; Wauneta-Palisade placed 4th with a time of 3:56.09, which was run by Bryner, Kameran McCrumb, Konner McCrumb, and Hilbert; and Cambridge placed 5th with a time of 3:56.09, which was run by Roy Hoelscher, Norton, Shoemaker, and Ahlemeyer.
In the 4x800-meter relay, Cambridge placed 2nd with a time of 9:22.60, which was run by Gunderson, Mitchell, Norton, and Sandfort; DCS placed 3rd with a time of 9:32.69, which was run by Shaw, Yrkoski, Cooper Shaw, and Cardoza; and Southern Valley placed 4th with a time of 9:50.31, which was run by Josiah Dowell, Preston Howart, Schockman, and Bryton Stalder.
In the shot put, Brock Bailey of DCS set a new meet record with his 1st place throw of 58'3", and Carlos Diaz of DCS placed 4th with a throw of 46'8".
In the discus, Bailey of DCS placed 2nd with a toss of 153'5", Diaz of DCS placed 3rd with a toss of 130'10", and Lane Bybee of DCS placed 5th with a toss of 117'1".
In high jump, Latta of DCS placed 1st with a leap of 6'6", and Aden Acton of Wauneta-Palisade placed 2nd with a leap of 6'0".

In the 100-meter dash, Adi Hunt of Southern Valley placed 1st with a new meet record time of 11.95, Clara Sparo placed 2nd with a time of 11.97, JoLie Farr of Cambridge placed 3rd with a time of 12.30, and Ava Messersmith of MHC placed 6th with a time of 13.12.
Two records were broken in the 200-meter dash. Hunt of Southern Valley placed 1st, setting a new meet record with her time of 24.73, and Spargo of DCS placed 2nd and set a new Class D State Record, pending approval from the state, with her time of 24.86. That record was the oldest Class D Girls Record, which was held by Karol McKenzie of Elwood in 1975 with a time of 25.20. Placing 3rd was Abi Spargo of DCS with a time of 25.74, and Farr of Cambridge placed 4th with a time of 25.74.
In the 400-meter dash, Hunt of Southern Valley set a new meet record with a time of 56.60 which placed her 1st, Messersmith of MHC placed 2nd with a time of 62.57, Desi Farner of Arapahoe placed 3rd with a time of 63.02, and Sawyer Shafer of Arapahoe placed 6th with a time of 65.13.
In the 800-meter run, Addison Richard of MHC placed 1st with a time of 2:32.02, Caylie Softley of MHC placed 4th with a time of 2:34.87, and Rachel Harris of Cambridge placed 6th with a time of 2:41.00.
In the 1600-meter run, Annaly Ramirez of Wauneta-Palisade placed 2nd with a time of 6:01.74, and Agneshka Sankey of MHC placed 6th with a time of 6:34.36.
In the 3200-meter run, Grace Andrews of Arapahoe placed 1st with a time of 14:07.58, Sankey of MHC placed 2nd with a time of 14:35.06, Briar Gunderson of Cambridge placed 3rd with a time of 14:41.57, Kylie Koeppen of Cambridge placed 4th with a time of 14:45.05, and Charlotte Broker of MHC placed 5th with a time of 14:50.52.

In discus, Bailey set a new meet record with her 1st place throw of 131'4", and LiLeigh Littrel of Wauneta-Palisade placed 5th with a throw of 88'2".
In high jump, Aspen Billeter of Southwest placed 1st with a jump of 5'2", Weiss of Cambridge placed 3rd with a jump of 4'10", K. Stengel of MHC placed 4th with a jump of 4'10", and J. Holtze of Cambridge placed 5th with a jump of 4'8".
In pole vault, Ambie Custard of Southwest placed 2nd with a vault of 9'6", and Taytym Roskop of Arapahoe and Alyssa Koch of Southwest finished in a 3-way tie for 4th with vaults of 8'6". Roskop was able to set a new school record with that vault.
In long jump, Farr of MHC placed 1st with a jump of 15'11.25", Abigail Blackman of Wauneta-Palisade placed 3rd with a jump of 15'8.5", J. Holtze of Cambridge placed 4th with a jump of 14'8", Holste of Southern Valley placed 5th with a jump of 14'6", and Fanning of Wauneta-Palisade placed 6th with a jump of 14'4".
In triple jump, Billeter of Southwest placed 1st with a jump of 33'5.5", B. Holtze of Cambridge placed 2nd with a jump of 33'3.75", Holste of Southern Valley placed 5th with a jump of 30'7.5", and Ramirez of Wauneta-Palisade placed 6th with a jump of 30'3.25".
Arapahoe, Cambridge, Maywood-Hayes Center, Southwest, and Wauneta-Palisade will all be back on the track on Thursday, April 17th, for the Medicine Valley Invite, which is hosted at Cambridge. Dundy County Stratton will attend the Sutherland Invite on Thursday, the 17th, and Southern Valley will attend the Bertrand Invite on the 17th.
