RPAC Boys Basketball Results as of 11/18

The Basketball season rolls on. Also, the RPAC Tournament begins this Saturday. Be sure to check out the bracket at the bottom of this week's results blog.
Alma
Alma had a full week with three games, and they went 3-0. Alma first beat Amherst on Tuesday, 42-34. Shooting wasn't a strong suit for Alma at 32%, but it wasn't for Amherst either as they shot 21%. Tucker Biskup led the scoring with 19 points for Alma. Zavier Mitchell had 10 points and 11 rebounds.
Alma then faced RPAC foe Hi-Line on Thursday and won 62-29. Biskup scored 16 points, Mitchell 19, and Grady Faimon had 13.
The Cardinals ended the week playing at Hitchcock County and won, which was an RPAC Rundown Featured Matchup. You can read the full game story here.
Alma is 13-1 winners of eight in a row and will play Elm Creek at home on Tuesday before the RPAC Tournament. Alma is the #1 seed in the East and will play the #8 seed Arapahoe in the first round on Saturday at 1:00 P.M. CT in Cambridge.
Arapahoe
The Warriors had two games and went 0-2. They played at Loomis on Tuesday and lost 64-15. Aidan Roush had four points for the Warriors, and Hudson Larson had three.
Arapahoe then faced Hi-Line and lost 55-28. Roush had seven points, and Kaydon Yeager had six.
The Warriors are 0-14 and will play Axtell on Tuesday before the RPAC Tournament. They are the #8 seed and will face #1-seeded Arapahoe in the first round on Saturday at 1:00 P.M. CT in Cambridge.

Bertrand
The Vikings had two games this past week and extended their win streak to six games. First, they played Southwest on Friday and won 65-40. The Vikings were up 34-27 at halftime, but a 31-13 second half was key for Bertrand. Thunder Nelson scored 25 points, Scottie Beiker had a nice game with 19 points and 13 rebounds, and Hunter Nelson added 12 points. Payton Way distributed the ball well with five assists.
Bertrand then faced Overton and won a thriller, 56-55 in overtime. Scottie Bieker again was dominant with 28 points and 17 rebounds. Thunder Nelson had 14 points, eight rebounds, and six assists.
Bertrand is now 12-3 and will play Maywood-Hayes Center on Tuesday before the RPAC Tournament. They are the #2 seed on the East for the RPAC Tournament and will face #7 seeded Southern Valley on Saturday at 5:30 P.M. CT in Cambridge.
Cambridge
Cambridge had a trio of games this past week and has now won five in a row. First, they beat Medicine Valley 55-40. Hodge Raburn had 24 points in the game to lead Cambridge. He also had 12 rebounds. Braxton Mitchell and Braydon Miller each had 10 points.
On Friday, Cambridge played Sutherland and won by a final score of 51-42.
Finally, Cambridge faced Maxwell on Saturday and won 67-46. In this game, Cambridge's Brady Ahlemeyer broke the school record for career three-pointers. This was an RPAC Rundown Featured Matchup, and you can read the full story here.
Cambridge is now 8-5 and will face Wauneta-Palisade on Tuesday, on the road ahead of the RPAC Tournament. Cambridge is the #3 seed and will play #6 seeded Southwest on Saturday in Cambridge at 4:00 P.M. CT in the first round.
Dundy County Stratton
The Tigers of Dundy County Stratton had a couple of games last week and are on a four-game winning streak. First, they played Hitchcock County on Tuesday and won in overtime 59-58. Ethan Latta and August Shaw led the scoring attack with 18 and 17 points. An exciting game to say the least.
On Saturday, DCS beat Loomis, 53-32. It was close at halftime, 28-25 in favor of the Tigers, but a 25-7 second half from DCS led to the win.
Latta had 15 points, Shaw had 13, and Dante Horner had 10.
DCS is now 11-2 and will face Wallace on the road Tuesday before the RPAC Tournament. In the first round, they will play on the West side #7 seeded Maxwell, DCS is the #2 seed. That game will be at 5:30 P.M. CT at Wauneta-Palisade.

Hitchcock County
The Falcons just keep improving. They had three games and went 1-2, but they faced a tough slate and played their opponents tough. First, they dropped a close one to DCS, who is a highly regarded team in the state, in overtime, 59-58. Jayce Hauxwell was 9-10 with 24 points. Jack Baker was 7-10 with 19 points, and Adam Kisker had 13.
Hitchcock County then faced Alma, one of the top teams in C-2. Hitchcock County fell in the game 66-58. This was an RPAC Rundown Featured Matchup. You can read the full game story here.
The Falcons closed the week with a 60-35 win against Sutherland. Hauxwell was efficient again with 26 points to lead the Falcons. As a team, they shot 44% from the field.
Hitchcock County is 7-6 and will play Cheylin, KS, on Monday and then host Paxton on Tuesday before the RPAC Tournament on Saturday. They are the #5 seed in the West, and will play #4 seed Paxton. That game is at 2:30 P.M. CT at Wauneta-Palisade on Saturday.
Hi-Line
The Bulls of Hi-Line had a trio of games and went 2-1. First, they played Southwest and won 45-42. This was an RPAC Rundown Featured matchup, and you can read the full game story here.
Hi-Line then faced Alma and lost 62-29. The Bulls closed out the week with a win against Arapahoe, 55-28.
Hi-Line is 7-6 and will play Overton on Tuesday ahead of the RPAC Tournament. Hi-Line is the #5 seed in the RPAC East Tournament and will play the #4 seed Medicine Valley on Saturday at Cambridge at 2:30 P.M. CT.
Maywood-Hayes Center
Maywood-Hayes Center played a pair of games last week and won both of them. First, they beat Maxwell, 58-33. Keenan Richards had a nice game with 24 points and nine rebounds. Oliver Anders had another double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds.
MHC then took down Sandhills Valley 65-29. Four Wolves were in double figures; Richards with 18 points, Charlie Callis had 17, Kade Broz had 15, Anders had 10. Anders had 11 rebounds.
MHC is 12-2 and will play Bertrand on Tuesday before the RPAC Basketball Tournament. MHC is the #1 seed in the West and will play Wauneta-Palisade on Saturday at 1:00 P.M. CT at Wauneta-Palisade.

Maxwell
Maxwell had three games last week and dropped each of them. First, they lost to Maywood-Hayes Center 58-33. Jesse Reyes had nine points, Tayton Phillips and Brison Brewer each had seven points.
Maxwell played a close game against South Loup on Friday, losing 48-45. Phillips had 17 points and Brewer totaled 11.

Maxwell is 3-11 and will play Brady on Tuesday. Then, they play in the RPAC Tournament. They are the #7 seed and will face #2 seed Dundy County Stratton on Saturday in the first round at Wauneta-Palisade. Tip-off is at 5:30 P.M. CT.
Medicine Valley
The Raiders had two games last week and split the matchups. First, Medicine Valley played Cambridge and lost, 55-40. Cambridge built a nice lead in the first half, 32-25. In the second half, they built the lead more and secured the win. For the Raiders, Mason Roblee had a nice game with 23 points.
Medicine Valley faced Mullen on Friday and won 54-45. The Raiders led 32-18 at halftime, which was key to the victory. Three Raiders were in double figures: Roblee with 22 points, Lucas Einspahr with 11, and Ethan Brown with 14. Roblee had 13 rebounds, too.
The Raiders are 7-5 and will go to Sutherland on Tuesday ahead of the RPAC Tournament. In the Tourney, they are the #4 seed in the East and will face #5 seeded Hi-Line in Cambridge on Saturday at 2:30 P.M. CT.
Paxton
The Tigers had a couple of games last week and split the matchups. They began with a home game on Thursday night against Creek Valley. The Tigers won big, 56-28. Three Tigers were in double figures as Tristen Hebblethwaite had 11 points, Maddex McConnell had 19 points, and Keegan Florom had 12. Hebbelthwaite totaled 15 rebounds, too.
The Falcons then faced Wallace on Friday and lost 43-35. Hebblethwaite had 10 points, and McConnell had 12. Hebblethwaite again had a nice rebounding game with 10 boards.
Paxton is 7-6 and will face Hitchcock County on the road on Tuesday, the 20th, before the RPAC Tournament.
The Tigers are the #4 seed in the West and will play Hitchcock County on Saturday, too, at 2:30 P.M. CT at Wauneta-Palisade.

Southern Valley
The Eagles of Southern Valley played two games last week and lost both. First, they played Chase County on Tuesday and lost 68-35. Isaac Hamilton had 16 points to lead the Eagles. Tate Weatherwax had eight points.
Southern Valley then faced Holdrege and lost 89-66. Southern Valley was led by 25 points from Hamilton and 20 from Hunter Lans. Houston Hunt totaled 15 points, too. Southrn Valley is now 4-11 and will face Shelton on the road on Tuesday, the 20th. Southern Valley is the #7 seed on the East side of the RPAC Tournament. They will play #2 seeded Bertrand on Saturday at 5:30 P.M. CT in Cambridge.
Southwest
Southwest had two games last week and lost both. First, they played Hi-Line on Tuesday and lost a close one, 45-42. This was an RPAC Rundown Featured matchup, and you can read the full game story here.
Southwest faced Bertrand and lost 65-40. It was a 31-13 second half from the Vikings that allowed them to get the win. Houston Billeter had 28 points for Southwest.
The Roughriders are 5-9 and will be the #6 seed on the East side of the RPAC Tournament. They will play #3 seed Cambridge on Saturday, the 24th, at Cambridge, starting at 4:00 P.M. CT.
Sutherland
The Sailors played in three games and lost all three of them. On Tuesday, they lost an overtime battle 52-49 to Arthur County. Zayn Green had 15 points and 11 rebounds for the Sailors.
Then Sutherland played Cambridge and lost 51-42. Cambridge's 19-9 third quarter was the difference for Cambridge. Green had 14 points and 10 rebounds, and Mason Mortimer scored 10.
Hitchcock County was the next opponent, and they dropped the game, did the Sailors, 60-35. Mortimer had 13 points for Sutherland. Sutherland will face Medicine Valley on Tuesday at home ahead of the RPAC Tournament.
In the RPAC Tournament, Sutherland is the #6 seed and will face #3 seed Wallace on Saturday at Wauneata-Palisade starting at 2:30 P.M. CT.

Wallace
Wallace had two games last week, won them both, and extended their win streak to four games. On Thursday, they beat South Platte 60-40. Three Wildcats were in double-figures as Colt Franklin scored 24 points, Max Hanson had 10, and Micah Garison had 12.
Wallace then played Paxton on the road on Friday and won 43-35. Colt Franklin had 13 points and nine rebounds in the win. Tyson Sullivan had nine, and Kyle Melton and Brad Hanson each had eight.
Wallace is now 10-2 and will face Dundy County Stratton at home on Tuesday. Then the RPAC Tournament begins on Saturday, and Wallace is the #3 seed in the West. They play #6 seeded Sutherland on Saturday at 4:00 P.M. CT at Wauneta-Palisade.
Wauneta-Palisade
The Broncos played two games last week and fell in each one. They first dropped a gam to South Platte, 64-46. Three Broncos were in double-figures as Wyatt Hilbert had 11, Aaden Wheeler scored 13, and Ayden Baker had 12.
The Broncos then fell to Garden County 65-32. Hillbert had 14 points. Wauneta-Palisade is 1-13 and will play Cambridge at home on Tuesday before the RPAC Tournament. The Broncos are the #8 seed in the West for the RPAC Tournament and will play #1 seeded Maywood-Hayes Center at Wauneta-Palisade, with tip-off at 1:00 P.M. CT.
