RPAC Volleyball Results as of 8/31

The volleyball season kicked off on Thursday, and it's been a busy few days of duals, triangulars, and tournaments. Let's dive into the results from last week!



Alma

The Cardinals kicked off their season at the Minden Invite on Saturday, where they faced off with the host in their first match of the season.


They jumped into the tournament and faced Minden, where they were swept, 2-0, with set scores of 25-7 and 25-12.


Against Nebraska Christian, Alma lost the first set 25-20, won the second set 26-24, and then lost the third set 25-18, ultimately falling in the match 2-1.


The Cardinals then had a match with Twin River. Alma dominated the first set with a set score of 25-8. The Titans bounced back and took set two with a set score of 25-22. Alma took the third and final set with a score of 25-21 to take the match, 2-1.

Alma starts the year 1-2 and will travel to Wilcox-Hildreth for a triangular with the Falcons and Franklin on Tuesday, and will travel to Bertrand on Thursday for a triangular with the Vikings and Cambridge.


Arapahoe

Arapahoe traveled to Franklin on Thursday to start their season. The Warriors battled and took sets one and two, 25-22 and 25-18, but dropped the third set, 25-12. Arapahoe made adjustments and took the fourth set, 25-19, and won the match, 3-1. Emma Strand posted 11 kills and 10 digs; Desi Farner added 11 kills and 22 digs; Clara Hilker pounded nine kills and picked up 11 digs; Suttyn Shafer had five aces and 16 digs; Sawyer Shafer had 10 digs and had 18 assists; and Grace Andrews added 15 assists.


On Friday, Arapahoe hosted Cambridge and was swept by the Trojans 3-0 with set scores of 25-12, 25-19, and 25-10. This was an RPAC Rundown Featured Matchup - Click here to read more. Strand, Cydney Carlson, Taytum Roskop, and Hilker each tallied three kills. Suttyn Shafer picked up 10 digs, Hilker added nine digs, and Roskop had six digs. Sawyer Shafer and Andrews each had six assists in the match.


Arapahoe is 1-1 to start the year and will travel to Hitchcock County for a triangular with the Falcons and Dundy County Stratton.


Bertrand

The Vikings had one match last week to begin their season, and they traveled to Southwest for a dual. Bertrand lost the match, 3-0, with set scores of 25-12, 25-10, and 25-18. Livia Philips had eight kills and nine digs, and Alivia Rabe had three kills. Baylee Kipp added six digs, Malia Brown had four digs, and Addison Andersen had five digs and 11 assists.


Bertrand falls to 0-1 to start the season and will travel to Elm Creek on Tuesday and host Alma and Cambridge for a triangular on Thursday.



Cambridge

Cambridge began their season with a rivalry match with Arapahoe on Friday night. The Trojans swept the Warriors, 3-0, with set scores of 25-12, 25-19, and 25-10. This was an RPAC Rundown Featured Matchup - Click here to read more. Brooklyn Holtze had 19 kills in the match, 14 digs, and five assists. Elisabeth Kubik added eight kills and 15 digs; Mallory Springer had eight kills, 11 digs, and 18 assists. Kate Salberg added eight assists and five digs, and Kolbryn Clason had 12 digs.


Cambridge hosted a four-team round-robin style tournament on Saturday, featuring Red Cloud, Wauenta-Palisade, and Southwest.


Against Red Cloud, the Trojans got the 2-0 sweep with set scores of 25-22 and 25-17. Holtze had eight kills, five assists, and seven digs; Springer had six kills, 15 digs, and six assists; Kubik added 11 digs, and Annabelle Taylor added six digs.


Cambridge swept Wauneta-Palisade, 2-0, with set scores of 25-22 and 26-24. Holtze had 10 kills, four digs, and seven assists; Springer had six kills, 10 digs, and nine assists; Kubik had four kills and six digs; Salberg added two aces and six digs; Taylor had seven digs, and Clason had three digs.


Cambridge then faced Southwest and was swept, 2-0. Holtze posted 13 kills, two blocks, 10 digs, and four assists; Springer had five kills, 14 digs, and nine assists; Kubik had three kills and 11 digs; Clason added 10 digs and three assists, and Salberg added 10 digs and two assists.


Cambridge is 3-1 to start and will host a triangular on Tuesday with Sutherland and Paxton, and travel to Bertrand on Thursday for a triangular with the Vikings and Alma.

Dundy County Stratton

The Tigers traveled to Axtell on Saturday to begin the year.


Against Silver Lake, DCS earned the 2-0 sweep with set scores of 25-15 and 25-23.


The Tigers fell to Ansley-Litchfield 2-0, with set scores of 25-23 and 25-20.


DCS earned a bounce-back win over Lawrence-Nelson with a 2-0 sweep with set scores of 25-20 and 25-11.

Dundy County Stratton is 2-1 on the year and will travel to Hitchcock County on Thursday for a triangular with the Falcons and Arapahoe.


Hi-Line

The Bulls traveled to Southern Valley on Thursday to face the Eagles, marking the start of their season. It was an exciting match to begin the year, as it took five sets to find the winner. Southern Valley took the first two sets with set scores of 25-21 and 25-20. Hi-Line took sets three and four, 25-15 and 25-16. The Eagles took set five 15-12 to defeat the Bulls, 3-2. Lauryn Ruda had 14 kills and three aces; Rilee Schutz had 11 kills and eight digs; Klaire Pohl had five aces, eight digs, and 27 assists; Piper Puls had 21 digs, Bentley Stubbs added 18 digs, Bristol Kubert had 16 digs, and Kylee Kubert had 10 digs.


On Friday, Hi-Line hosted Arcadia-Loup City and were swept, 3-0, with set scores of 25-23, 25-22, and 25-21. Schutz tallied 10 kills and Ruda added nine. Puls posted 12 digs, Kubert had seven digs, and Pohl added 18 assists.


The Bulls start the year 0-2 and will host Medicine Valley on Tuesday, travel to SEM on Thursday for a triangular with the Mustangs and Wilcox-Hildreth, and travel to South Loup on Friday for a dual.


Hitchcock County

The Falcons have found themselves on the road to open their season. They traveled to Wauneta-Palisade on Thursday and were swept, 3-0, with set scores of 25-9, 25-14, and 25-22. Madysen Carlson had seven kills for the Falcons; Riley Hagan added five kills and 12 digs; Katelyn Cook had five kills and five digs; Jayda Wood had 13 digs and seven assists; Asia Homma had nine digs; and Emma Hagan had eight digs. Kalissa Hagan had 11 assists in the match.


Hitchcock County traveled to Overton on Saturday for a tournament where they had three matches.


In their match against Overton, the Falcons were swept, 2-0, with set scores of 25-16 and 25-21. Carlson had six kills and five blocks; Homma had four kills and 12 digs; R. Hagan added 10 digs, K. Hagan had eight digs and four assists, Wood had five digs and eight assists, E. Hagan and Cook added four digs each.


In their match against Maxwell, the Falcons took set one, 25-21, and then dropped sets two and three with set scores of 25-18 and 25-14 to lose the match, 2-1. R. Hagan led the way with 10 kills and 13 digs; Homma added nine kills, three aces, and 13 digs; Carlson added seven kills; K. Hagan had nine digs and 14 assists; E. Hagan had nine digs; Cook had eight digs; and Wood had five digs and 11 assists.


Against H&H (Heartland and Hampton), the Falcons earned the 2-0 sweep with set scores of 25-20 and 25-10. Carlson had 10 kills; Homma had six kills and five digs; R. Hagan had five aces and 10 digs; Cook added five digs, K. Hagan had nine assists, and Wood added eight assists.


Hitchcock County is 1-3 to start the year and will host Dundy County Stratton, and Arapahoe on Thursday for a triangular.

Maxwell

Maxwell traveled to Medicine Valley on Thursday to begin their season. The Wildcats swept the Raiders, 3-0, with set scores of 25-14, 25-14, and 25-18. This was an RPAC Rundown Featured Matchup, and you can click here to read more on that match.


On Saturday, the Wildcats traveled to Overton for a tournament where they had three matches.


In their match against Shelton, the Wildcats were swept, 2-0, with set scores of 25-19 and 25-12.


Against Hitchcock County, the Falcons took set one, 25-21, and then Maxwell was able to take sets two and three with set scores of 25-18 and 25-14 to win the match, 2-1.


In their match against Anselmo-Merna, the Wildcats took the match, 2-0, with set scores of 25-14 and 25-9.

Maxwell starts the year with a 3-1 record and will travel to Brady on Thursday for a dual.



Maywood-Hayes Center

The Wolves began their season on Thursday by hosting Paxton and Sandhills Valley for a triangular.


Against Sandhills Valley, MHC got the 2-0 sweep with set scores of 25-9 and 25-10. Karissa Stengel had five kills, seven assists, and four digs; Blayklee Farr had four kills and four digs; Caylie Softley had four kills, three blocks, and five digs; Addison Richards had three kills and four blocks; Ensley Lawless added six digs, and Jaylee Sellers had five digs and 11 assists.


The Wolves swept Paxton, 2-0, with set scores of 25-17 and 25-20. Softley had nine kills, four aces, and eight digs; Haylie Gustafson added five kills and four digs; Lawlwss had three aces and nine digs; Stengel had six digs and eight assists; and Sellers added nine assists.


MHC starts the year 2-0 and will travel to Southwest on Thursday for a triangular with the Roughriders and Rawlins County, KS, and will travel to Perkins County on Saturday for a dual.


Medicine Valley

Medicine Valley hosted Maxwell to open their season on Thursday. The Wildcats swept the Raiders, 3-0, with set scores of 25-14, 25-14, and 25-18. This was an RPAC Rundown Featured Matchup, and you can click here to read more on that match.

The Raiders are 0-1 and will travel to Hi-Line on Tuesday and Arthur County on Friday.

Paxton

Paxton traveled to Maywood-Hayes Center on Thursday for a triangular. Against the Wolves, the Tigers were swept 2-0 with set scores of 25-17 and 25-20. Addison Holm had five kills, three blocks, and four digs; Jakcee Mitchell had 11 digs; Reece Glinn had 12 digs; Jaleigh Hansen had six digs; Cayla Peterson had five digs; and Hadleigh Kramer had nine assists.


Against Sandhills Valley, Paxton lost set one, 25-13, but won sets two and three with set scores of 25-23 and 25-18 to win the match, 2-1. Holm had 10 kills and eight digs; Hansen had eight kills and 10 digs; Mitchell had six kills and 11 digs; Briley Dorram had six kills; Peterson had four aces and six digs; Glinn had eight digs, and Kramer added eight digs and 19 assists.


Paxton is 1-1 and will travel to Cambridge on Tuesday for a triangular with the Trojans and Sutherland, and will travel to South Platte on Thursday for a dual.

Southern Valley

Southern Valley hosted Hi-Line on Thursday, and what a thriller to start the season. The Eagles came away with a five-set homecoming win. Southern Valley took sets one and two, 25-21 and 25-20. The Bulls took sets three and four, 25-15 and 25-16, to force the fifth and deciding set. Southern Valley took set five 15-12 to win the match, 3-2.

The Eagles start the year 1-0 and will hit the road for a couple of tough matches this week, with Gothenburg on Tuesday and Cozad on Thursday.


Southwest

The Roughriders hosted Bertrand to begin their season and got the 3-0 sweep with set scores of 25-12, 25-10, and 25-18. Kyra Nelms had 16 kills and 12 digs; Anikka Nelms had 13 kills, three aces, and 12 digs; Bellamie Stritt added six digs; and Aspen Billeter had 27 assists.


On Saturday at the Cambridge four-team round-robin style tournament, Southwest faced Wauneta-Palisade, Red Cloud, and Cambridge.


Against Wauneta-Palisade, Southwest dropped the first set to the Broncos, 25-14, and then won sets two and three with set scores of 25-20 and 25-22, to win the match, 3-2. K. Nelms posted 19 kills and nine digs; A. Nelms had 12 kills and 11 digs; Caitlyn Adams had 11 digs, Stritt added five digs, and Billeter had three aces and 32 assists.


In the match against Wauneta-Palisade, sophomore setter Aspen Billeter hit 1,000 career assists. Congratulations, Aspen!



In their next game of the tournament, the Roughriders faced Red Cloud and earned the 2-0 sweep with set scores of 25-10 and 25-13. K. Nelms had 11 kills; A. Nelms had four kills, three aces, and nine digs; and Billeter had nine digs and 13 assists.


Southwest faced the tournament hosts, Cambridge, and came away with the 2-0 sweep. No stats were posted for this match. When they are available, we will update the blog.


Southwest starts the year 4-0 and will host Maywood-Hayes Center and Rawlins County, KS, on Thursday for a triangular.



Sutherland

The Sailors traveled to Perkins County on Thursday for a triangular with the Plainsmen and Creek Valley. In their match against Perkins County, Sutherland lost 2-0, with set scores of 25-20 and 25-16. Leah Harper had three kills, and Addison Arvdal had three kills. Also, Payten Weber had 14 digs, and Drew Rotert had 10 assists.


Against Creek Valley, Sutherland bounced back and took a 2-0 sweep over the Storm with set scores of 25-7 and 25-16. The Sailors were strong at the service line as they had 11 aces in the match, and Weber led the way with four aces, Jali Martinez added three, Keeley Dempcy had two, and Rotert added two. Eliana Dyer had six kills, Weber had five digs, and Rotert had 12 assists.


Sutherland starts the year 1-1 and will travel to Cambridge on Tuesday for a triangular with Cambridge and Paxton.

Wallace

Wallace hosted Arthur County on Friday and earned the 3-0 sweep with set scores of 25-20, 27-25, and 25-23. Reafan Finley had nine kills, three aces, and 15 digs; Kaley Sauser had seven kills, nine digs, and 14 assists; and Mariana Aceves-Lopez had three aces, 15 digs, and eight assists.


Wallace starts the year 1-0 and will travel to Arthur County on Tuesday for a triangular with the Wolves and Cody-Kilgore, and will travel to Creek Valley on Thursday for a dual.


Wauneta-Palisade

Wauneta-Palisade had a full schedule to start their season, having played five matches.


In the Broncos dual with Hitchcock County at home on Thursday, they were able to come away with a 3-0 sweep with set scores of 25-9, 25-14, and 25-22.


Wauneta-Palisade traveled to South Platte on Friday and earned the 3-0 sweep with set scores of 25-11, 25-8, and 25-19.


On Saturday, they traveled to the Cambridge four-team round-robin style tournament and faced Southwest, Red Cloud, and Cambridge.


Against Southwest, Wauneta-Palisade took set one 25-14, but dropped sets two and three with set scores of 25-20. and 25-22 to drop the match, 2-1.


Against Cambridge, the Broncos were swept, 2-0, with set scores of 25-22 and 26-24.


Wauneta-Palisade bounced back against Red Cloud and got the 2-0 sweep with set scores of 26-24 and 25-16.
